Floyd is the Chief Executive Officer of Universal Time Release Publishing, LLC. Universal Time Release Publishing, LLC (UTRP), is an education and resource distribution company dedicated to improving literacy, child safety awareness, enhancing youth social and emotional intelligence, increasing youth and family members understanding of the determinants of health and wellbeing, and empowering youth to achieve through literacy and music education.
The corporation, located in Stafford, Texas, was birthed out of a desire to utilize cutting-edge educational technology (streaming, literary tools, audio/visual media outlets) in combination with community resources to alleviate human suffering and to teach youth how to make informed decisions about aspects of life that may pose a danger to themselves or others. A major function of the corporation will be to educate youth by utilizing a unique strategic learning approach that mergers essential learning attributes from both the social sciences and the children’s music industry professions.
The merger of these two professions has led to an approach to learning called Cerebrophonics (a learning through music program). Research studies from both the Brain Sciences institute at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and UC Berkley Instituted of Cognitive and Brain Science have produced adequate scientific data that support the efficacy of the Cerebrophonic approach to learning. As an educational resource center, Universal Time Release Publishing specializes in providing literacy tools for youth in public and private educational institutes, youth in the care and custody of state, county, local agencies, and youth in various other service organizations.
At present, Professor Gulu’s adult-child interactive learning series is comprised of twelve educational books, a highly advanced streaming technology music program, and two after school curriculums (
KIDS AND BULLYING and
KIDS AND FIRE SAFETY). These educational products have been reviewed and evaluated by government agencies and highly recommended by the Department of Education (Choice Partners) as essential tools to enhance youth literacy and abstract reasoning abilities.
The Chief Operating Officer and former Texas State Mental Health Representative, Karl A. Floyd, M.Ed., is the author, lyricist, co-music producer/creator of Professor Gulu’s Adult-Child Interactive Learning Series. Karl served as a member of the Texas State Governor’s Board of Commission- Statewide Health Coordinating Council of Texas. Karl is the first mental health professional ever appointed by the Texas Governor to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council. On May 11, 2022, the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians Credentials and Certification Committee awarded Karl the designation of Emeritus Status. Karl is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Cognitive Behavior Therapist, Master Addictions Counselor, and a board-Certified Medical Psychotherapist and Psychodiagnostician. The American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnostician has certified Karl as a Fellow and Diplomat. Karl has over twenty-three years’ experience in the behavioral healthcare.profession. In addition, Karl has many years of extensive training in the medical, educational, and juvenile probation fields. He holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Houston, University Park, and specializes in chemical dependency. Karl also attained two years doctoral studies at the University of Houston and has continued to serve in a clinical management and supervisory capacity in the behavioral healthcare profession.
