Description

What can be more dangerous than driving while intoxicated or “high” on drugs? The answer is right at your fingertips- texting while driving. According to AAA studies, an estimated 4,000 to 8,000 crashes occur daily in the United States as a result of distracted driving. In addition, AAA reports indicate that approximately 50 percent of teens admit to texting while driving. Drivers who text behind the wheel are distracted. Motorists who take their eyes off the road – even for a few seconds – could cost themselves, others, or loved ones injury or even death. Always pull over to a safe place if you need to talk or text when operating a motor vehicle. In addition, please talk with your parents, teachers, and counselors for other road safety tips.

I think that teaching children about sensitive topics such as bullying, predators, online safety, and even simple things they need to mature such as fire safety, and how to treat peers, is more important than ever for healthy moral and social development. Engaging children is more difficult with so much information and entertainment available, and limited resources to get your children’s attention back on what they need to learn. Professor Gulu’s music and activity workbooks are a great tool for teaching your kids important lessons or getting them engaged in group activities where they can learn from each other. I recommend using Professor Gulu’s songs to help kids learn early, because they will remember songs from childhood long after a conversation is forgotten.

The principles Professor Gulu teaches to children are highly beneficial in navigating in today’s society. The scenario of the chat room helps children and teens to recognize the dangers of unmonitored online activity. It is also a very beneficial resource for parents and guardians. The specific tips that are outlined are thoroughly age appropriate. All parents should be informed of the realities of internet predators and openly discussing it with their children. This book helps aid that discussion in an engaging and fun manner for all ages.

I am a junior high educator and I recommend the lyric book to any parent! My children absolutely love to sing along to the Professor Gulu songs and it’s great to have the lyrics so that you can see what your kids are actually saying. My 5 year olds reading fluency is also improving as he’s singing along to the lyric book.

I downloaded the lyrics to my iBooks on my phone and also onto my children’s iPads. These catchy tunes will have your kiddos entertained and learning at the same time. Professor Gulu rocks!
